FEDERAL SKILLED TRADES PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
The Federal Skilled Trades Program is for program is for those who are skilled in trades and wish to immigrate to Canada and contribute to its economy and at the same time work towards achieving permanent residence and their job titles and descriptions fit into federal skilled trades program NOC B category. To achieve this, the minimum language requirements for qualification must be achieved, the requisite work experience, proof of fund, admissibility, education, adaptability and assessment by the intended province of settlement.
Language Requirements: Result must be less than 2 years old as at the time of application to be acceptable for submission. There are four acceptable tests that can be completed; IELTS( International English Language Testing System), CELPIP( Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program), TEF( Test d’évaluation de français), and TCF(Test de connaissance du français), and test is carried out in four language areas; listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Education. There is no education requirment for Federal skilled Trades program but additional points can be obtained if the applicant has any form of education in the past like Bachelors, Masters, certificate, diploma, trades certification. Education can be obtained in Canada or abroad and in th case of the latter an ECA report will be required as proof of qualification being up to Canada education standard.
Admissibility. Applicant must be admissible into Canada by ensuring they have no criminal records, any debilitating transferrable incurable illnesses and are not a security threat to Canada amongst other requirements.
Skilled Trades Work Experience. Work experience must in the area of trades (NOC B category job) and applicant must have not less than 2 years worth of paid work experience in the most recent past 5 years in a full time job of atleast 30hrs/week. Applicant should have a valid job offer for full time continuous work of at least 1 year or have a trades certification from a Canadian Fedreal authority.
Assessment by the Province of choice. Trades certification assessment or job training/experience will be given by the host province most likely and each province does things a little differently. So it will serve the applicant to decide on which province the wish to settle and proceed with all other processings there. Here is a list;

Proof of Funds. Applicant should be able to prove the availability of enough funds for them and their family members for sustainance when they arrive in Canada and this is possible by obtaining an official letter from their financial institution written on their official letter headed paper unless applicant already has a valid job offer or is legally working in Canada. The amount to be shown as proof of funds is as listed below based on family size where 3 members of the family is made up of the applicant, spouse and one dependent child and it ides not matter if they are comming with the applicant to Canada or not, all members must be included;
