FEDERAL SKILLED WORKER ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to apply for federal skilled worker program, a total pass mark of 67 out of 100 needs to be achieved. The selection areas of consideration are age, education, work experience, language proficiency, adaptability, admissibility, proof of funds, and a valid job offer. Education (Total of 25 points): Applicant needs to have in their possession a secondary institution(high school)/ post-secondary institution's degree, certificate or a diploma from a Canadian institution or produce a conversion (Equivalent Certificate Assessment [ECA] report) that is equivalent to the Canadian standard. Language Proficiency (Total of 28 points): To be able to succeed in the Federal skilled worker program, proficiency in one of Canada's official languages (English & French) is a requisite. The total points that can be accumulated is 28, There are four acceptable tests that can be completed; IELTS, CELPIP, TEF, and TCF and test is carried out in four language areas; listening, speaking, reading and writing. A minimum of CLB 7 or NCLC 7 in all language areas for the first official language is required and CLB 5 OR NCLC 5 in all language areas for the second official language. First official language has a maximum point of 24 and the second official language has a maximum of 4 points.

Valid Job Offer (Total of 10 points): You can get a maximum of 10 points for a valid job offered by a qualifying Canadian company. The job has to be full time, continuous, non-seasonal, for at least 1 year in NOC A, B, or 0 and can be through LMIA or LMIA exempt.
